Life Update

With the beginning of the holiday season, the weeks are getting busier and busier. So I thought I would give a quick life update.

  1. The weather here in San Francisco has been crazy because of the atmospheric river that struck the area this week. According to SFGate, the North Bay has received more than twelve inches in three days, “breaking a thousand-year record.” Thankfully we did not lose power. And even better: when the rain stopped this morning, we went for a walk, and it was so warm I was more than comfortable in my t-shirt. I love California for that.
  2. I am three days behind on my NaNoWriMo goals, but I have some time to catch up over Thanksgiving. The school district gives us the entire week of Thanksgiving off, so I get a few days breather to write before the family festivities begin. The novel sits at 33,369 words, which is two thirds of the way to the goal. This week my protagonist visited Heaven, which may be my favorite sequence to write this far. I plan to share some of the writing next week.
  3. And best for last: a followup to last month’s exciting news. The baby is doing great, but the nausea is real. We thought the it was getting better, but one day off nausea meds proved otherwise. On a positive note, we got more ultrasound pictures, and our little jellybean looks quite energetic. They caught our baby kicking and stretching, and the experience is exhilarating. But no, we still do not know the gender.
